art meme D:
Last night was a weird one for me. It took me awhile to sleep as my head was just filled with thoughts of replaying Suikoden I, and then when I finally slept I dreamt of a lot of weird, weird things. As a result, I woke up just awhile ago! ORZ

Saw this floating around my flist, and I think it's quite an interesting meme for artists.

1. Do I have a distinct style of drawing?
2. If so, what exactly is it that defines my "style"?
3. Would you say my art usually follows a 'theme'?
4. Is there anything I really need to improve on or change?
5. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of/look like the style of anyone else?
6. Judging from whatever art of mine that you've seen, what do you think I do the best at?
7. What do you think I suck at?

#4 and 7 are almost the same in context, so you can hammer me twice on my suckage ;D Honestly, I think it's a good meme because I've always been doubting my art or I don't know what's even nice about it, so I might as well hear it from everyone. Fire away your thoughts!

1. Do I have a distinct style of drawing?
Yep, the Fenix-style XD

2. If so, what exactly is it that defines my "style"?
I think it's the way you do eyes, hair and noses?

3. Would you say my art usually follows a 'theme'?
Um, I guess. I can see that sometimes you draw following an idea or mood. That counts as a theme. :)

4. Is there anything I really need to improve on or change?
Um, just sometimes your hands look a bit weird, that's all. :)

5. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of/look like the style of anyone else?
Um, not that I know of. I can tell straightaway if it's your art I'm looking at. :)

6. Judging from whatever art of mine that you've seen, what do you think I do the best at?
Um, making interesting characters? And drawing crack XD

7. What do you think I suck at?
Well now, that's such a harsh word. Um... well, drawing super manly macho men? XD

Sorry i might be seriously long winded when I answer this 8D;

1. Do I have a distinct style of drawing?
Yup, I can always tell its yours.

2. If so, what exactly is it that defines my "style"?
The way you draw eyes and some parts of your inking. The facial structure and expression as well. The patterns you use in the bg as well.

3. Would you say my art usually follows a 'theme'?
Hmm well you tend to lean more to random clothing or pattern theme with 'dance' or J-boy happy poses with random clothing together. The patterns you use are considered a theme too just that I'm not too sure how to classify those XD;

4. Is there anything I really need to improve on or change?
Well you've been improving a lot though I think you need to improve on your character expressions (variety and fluidity) and your character proportions. They tend to be a bit erratic. Your hands particularly, they joints at times makes no sense. I'm not sure if you're trying to achieve a sense of realism in your clothing etc seeing as some people go for graphic styles but sometimes your cloth folds and flow look a bit odd because the wind direction could come from one way and the cloth fold could be going the other.

5. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of/look like the style of anyone else?
Here and there but not distinctly. I see influences of peoples' styles in yours but I think its because I know which artists you favor so I can pinpoint it faster 8D;

6. Judging from whatever art of mine that you've seen, what do you think I do the best at?
Inking, definately. Your inking is your strong point because you've somehow managed to control the pen to work for your style and it looks nice.

7. What do you think I suck at?
Well not that you 'suck at it' per say but I think your perspective could use some work. I've never really seen you do dynamic scenes, not necessarily fighting, but more like, panoramic or dramatic oriented etc. Your colouring is improving etc as well as your light and mood but I think you have to study more on how the surrounding mood interacts or reacts to your focus character/object. I notice a tendency that the character sticks out in an odd way. When I say stick out, its more like the lighting on that character seems a bit off or the colours don't match with the surrounding or stand out a bit too much and it looks a bit confusing.

Other than that...sometimes I get the feeling that you try too hard in your art. Some of it, not all. Because its as if you try to strive for perfection so much that it ends up looking a tad stiff. Like you tweaked certain parts here and there that some parts don't harmonize with the other.Its not apparent in the stuff you randomly sketch out so I think you just need to unwind and relax when it comes to drawing some things.

Sorry if I talked to much on this yeah 8D; Just my 2 cents.
